New Years Day

Happy New Years all!! I hope that yours started off as nicely as ours did - We all took advantage of the day off to sleep as much as possible (playing catch up) and then a nice hike in the middle of the day.

There is a park nearby that has a hiking trail that hooks up to a much longer trail - We packed up Emily in the backpack (which we haven't done in ages but have plans to do much more of this year) and headed out. Mid way through we stopped at a park at an elementary school to let Emily play a little bit - it was a little too big for her still (we have to take her to the toddler park near our house this weekend) but she LOVED going down the slides on her own and with daddy. At first she was a little anxious but by the end she was all grins! After the playtime in the cool air she quickly fell asleep and slept the whole rest of the way back to the car and for another hour or so at home... Fresh air does us all good!
