Well we had to add a whole new album for all the Halloween pictures. :) It was a great weekend - We ended up missing Em's class party because it was my furlough day (and I didn't feel up to the drive to Athens) and my maid of honor Dionne was in town - so Em dressed up in her costume and we ran errands and had a long leisurely lunch with Di at our friend's Crepe restaurant in Atlanta - then home, long nap for Em, lots of housework for mom and dinner out with dad.
Saturday we had Michael G's birthday toddler party - even with the rain it was a LOT of fun! There were 6 or 7 toddlers under 3, a baby, and 3 pre-teens - in addition to all the respective adults. :) So it was definitely a housefull! Jenn had hidden a bunch of treats for the munchkins to find, then hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and all the trimmings.... YUMMY!!! Lots of running around and general mayhem in the house as the kids explored their goodies! The munchkins who stayed awake got to have lots of fun arts and crafts with painting pumpkins, finger painting, and general chaos. Dana (Jenn's sister) set up an obstacle course for the older kids). Then it was nap time - and afterwards - MORE sugar - with decorating cupcakes (although Emily much preferred eating the candy than decorating the cupcake)....
By this time it was late in the day, and we let the little ones who were still standing (or waking up) have some run around play time in the house - while the grownups watched the last of a painful UGA/FL game. After the game and all the playing - all were ready to head home and crash. The kids had a blast having one last round of ring around the rosie and seeing who could fall the fastest.
Em was a giraffe (which she called a dog whenever asked) - we also had a princess costume for her but she ran crying from it every time we tried to get her to put it on. So instead, we went through one regular costume, one halloween outfit, one GA outfit, and then one of miss Abby's shirts with Emily's jeans... :)
Hope everyone had as fun and silly a halloween!
